PLEASE NOTE: These plants will be shipped on a double pallet or in our van due to their size. A double pallet is 2.4m x 1.2m (8ft x 4ft) and will not come off the back of the lorry on the tail-lift. For this reason, you will need someone on delivery to lift the plants (approx 20kg each) down from the lorry.
We have a minimum order of 5 plants for delivery, as the delivery charge does not cover the full cost of the delivery. There is no minimum order for collection from our garden centre in Somerset (TA3 6PT).
They are top quality plants in 25 litre pots. Last few available. Reduced to clear.
Fast-growing leylandii hedging plants that will create a dense, evergreen hedge. They are great for screening and privacy as well as filtering out air pollution and noise. Leylandii will grow up to 1 metre (3ft) per year if given the best conditions for growth.
These leylandii are in 20 litre pots that are approx 35cm wide by 28cm deep. We recommend a minimum hole size of 60cm wide (square) by 30cm deep.
We recommend a planting distance of between 60 and 100cm apart (2-3ft) depending how fast you want the plants to “fill in” and form a dense screen. If you plant at 60cm (2ft) apart, you will get a dense hedge faster than if you plant at 1 metre apart (approx 3ft) . A good compromise is 75cm (2’6″) apart. You can use our Hedge Spacing Calculator to work out how many you need.
Delivery within 1-5 working days, please choose your delivery date during the checkout process. Delivery for next working day is usually available on orders placed before 11am.
Please note: we measure height from the top of the rootball to the tip of the plant. Heights quoted will be the height of the plants on delivery. The eventual height of the hedge will depend on pruning. Once the plants have reached your desired height, we recommend that the hedge be trimmed once or twice a year. If you trim it twice a year, you will have fewer clippings to dispose of.
If planting in the drier months (April to September), your plants will need to be watered until winter (usually end of October or beginning of November). We recommend checking your hedging plants regularly by pushing your finger into the soil or rootball of the plant to see if it is wet enough. For maximum growth and to stop the plants suffering from drought, you need to keep the soil moist at all times – never let it dry out – however, it does not want to be waterlogged. For more information see our advice pages on how to plant and maintain your leylandii hedge.
Prices are per plant and include VAT but not delivery. For delivery charges, see our Delivery page or add the plants to your basket and the delivery charge will be calculated as you go through the checkout process.
